Train Daily is a youth soccer training app. Kids use it, so we take privacy seriously, and we hold ourselves to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for any player under 13. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and the rights parents have.
What's in here
1.Who we are
Train Daily is operated by Outsmart Press, Inc. ("Train Daily," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy covers the Train Daily website, web app, and mobile apps (together, the "Service"). If you have questions about anything here, our contact details are at the bottom.
Train Daily is sold to coaches and clubs. A coach or club administrator sets up a team, adds players, and assigns daily training. Players use the app to complete that training. Parents don't manage anything day to day, but parents of players under 13 hold specific rights, described in the COPPA section below.
2.Information we collect
From coaches and club administrators
When you create a coach or admin account, we collect your name, email address, the name of your club or team, and a password. When you subscribe, our payment processor collects your billing details. We describe payments in section 6.
From players
A coach or club adds players to a roster. For each player we collect a first name (or a name the coach chooses to display), the team they belong to, and their training activity: which drills they complete, points earned, streaks, badges, level, and answers to any reinforcement questions the coach adds. Coaches provide a player's age or age range so we know whether the player is under 13.
We do not collect email addresses or phone numbers from players under 13. A player under 13 signs in through a method that does not require the child to give us contact information.
From coach-created content
Coaches can upload their own training videos, write drill descriptions, and add reinforcement questions. We store that content so it can be shown to that coach's team.
Automatically
Like most apps, we collect basic technical information when the Service is used: device type, app version, general log data, and app performance information. We use this to keep the app working and to fix problems. We keep this to what we need and do not use it to build advertising profiles of children.
3.How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Run the Service: assign training, track completion, award points, and show leaderboards to a player's own team.
- Set up and manage coach and club accounts.
- Process subscriptions and billing.
- Respond to support requests.
- Keep the app secure, diagnose problems, and improve how it works.
- Send account and service messages to coaches and admins (for example, a billing reminder before a charge).
We do not sell personal information. We do not use children's information to serve behavioral advertising, and we do not allow anyone else to.
4.Children's privacy and COPPA
Train Daily is used by children, so this section matters. It applies to any player under 13. It reflects our obligations under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
We get a parent's consent before a child under 13 uses Train Daily. We collect only what the app needs to run the training. We never sell a child's information or use it for advertising. A parent can review their child's information, ask us to delete it, and shut off any further collection at any time.
We get verifiable parental consent first
When a coach or club adds a player under 13, we ask the coach or club to provide a parent or guardian's contact information. We send that parent a direct notice describing what we collect and why, and we obtain verifiable parental consent before the child begins using Train Daily and before we collect personal information from the child. A child under 13 cannot use the Service until a parent has consented.
What we collect from a child, and what we don't
For a player under 13 we collect a display name, the team they're on, and their training activity (completed drills, points, streaks, badges, and answers to a coach's reinforcement questions). We do not collect a child's email address or phone number. We ask a child to provide only what the training reasonably needs, and never require more as a condition of taking part.
Who can see a child's information
A child's coach and their club administrator can see that child's roster information and training progress. That is information the coach and club already have, because they run the team. Teammates see only limited, in-team information: a display name and where they land on their own team's leaderboard. A child only sees their own team, made up of people they already know in real life. We do not make a child's information public, and we do not connect children across different teams or clubs.
Rights of parents
If you are the parent or guardian of a player under 13, you can at any time:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child.
- Ask us to delete your child's personal information.
- Refuse to allow any further collection or use of your child's information, and withdraw consent you gave earlier.
To do any of these, email us at support@mattmcwilliams.com and tell us your child's name and their team or club. We will verify that you are the child's parent before acting on the request. If you withdraw consent, we will stop collecting and using your child's information and will remove the child from active use of the Service.
We don't condition participation on extra information
A child can take part in the training without giving us more personal information than the activity reasonably requires.
5.How we share information
We share information in a small number of situations, and never for advertising:
- Within a team or club. Coaches and club administrators see the rosters and training progress for their own players. Teammates see limited in-team information as described above.
- Service providers. We use trusted companies to run Train Daily, such as our payment processor (Stripe) and our hosting provider. They may handle information on our behalf, only to provide their service to us, and they are bound to protect it.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of players, coaches, the public, or Train Daily.
- A business transfer. If Train Daily is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal. We would give notice before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share children's personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
6.Payments
Coaches and clubs pay by card through Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects and processes your card details directly. Train Daily does not store your full card number. Stripe handles that information under its own security standards and privacy policy.
7.How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can see roster and player data. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe and to limit who can reach it.
8.How long we keep information
We keep account and player information for as long as the account is active and the Service is in use. When a coach or club closes an account, or a parent asks us to delete a child's information, we delete or de-identify that information within a reasonable period, unless we need to keep some of it to meet a legal or accounting obligation. We keep children's personal information only as long as we need it to provide the Service.
9.Your choices
Coaches and admins can update their account information in the app or by contacting us. Parents of players under 13 have the rights described in the COPPA section. If you want a copy of the information we hold about you, or you want it corrected or deleted, email us and we'll help.
10.Cookies and usage data
Our website and app use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, and understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertising to children. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you turn them off.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Train Daily changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. If we make a change that affects how we handle children's personal information in a meaningful way, we'll get new parental consent where the law requires it. Please check back now and then.
